How to Use Vinegar for Losing Weight
The vinegar diet was popularized in the 1950s, when D. C. Jarvis published Folk Medicine: A Vermont Doctor’s Guide to Good Health. Drinking vinegar out of a bottle is not recommended to lose weight. Just know that there are two kind of vinegars. Most people know about the vinegar that is used for household task such as making your window sparkle or cleaning toilet. Do not use this vinegar! To lose weight, you need to use apple cider vinegar. This vinegar can be used in lots of meal recipes. Apple cider vinegar is made from the fermentation of apple cider. During the fermentation process, the sugar in the apple cider is broken down by bacteria and yeast into vinegar. Everyone knows that vinegar is acidic, and thus apple cider vinegar works by cleaning kidneys and bladder. The acid found in this vinegar will also reduce your craving in foods so it can prevent you from overeating. In addition, vinegar is known to increase body metabolism. Because of this, your body needs more energy to do basic functions such as pumping blood into your blood system. Vinegar is known to help allergies, diabetes, flu, high cholesterol, sore throat in addition to helping you lose weight.
Studies have shown that apple cider vinegar does help one to lose weight. In a 2009 study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry it was found that acetic acid may help prevent the buildup of body fat. In another study published that same year, it was found that obese people who consumed acetic acid daily for 12 weeks experienced a significant decrease in body weight and triglycerides. It is not really that difficult to incorporate vinegar into your diet. You can use vinegar for your salad. If you do not eat salads, try drinking a glass of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and 2 tablespoons of honey before each meal. Granted drinking one glass water will make you full, but the water trick will also help you to eat less.
Does apple cide vinegar have any side effect? Generally speaking, apple cider vinegar is safe. People who have used vinegar to lose weight for many years do not report any bad side effects. It is hard to imagine that anything as common as vinegar could somehow be dangerous, but there are a few things to consider before trying vinegar for losing weight.
•The apple cider vinegar used is unpasteurized.
•Apple cider vinegar is very acidic. Thus, always dilute vinegar with water or juice before drinking. Drinking pure vinegar can be damaging to tooth enamel or to the soft tissues of the mouth and throat.
•Vinegar can interfere with medication. Discuss this possibility with your doctor before starting a vinegar diet, especially if you are taking medicine for diabetes or heart disease.
•Long-term use of vinegar may lower bone density. If you have or are at risk for osteoporosis, do nott start a vinegar diet without checking with your doctor first. As a side note, always ask your doctor before doing any diet, including the apple cider vinegar diet because everyone has different health condition.
Dr. Jarvis claimed that vinegar could help someone lose up to 15 pounds per year with little change in eating habits. In addition, Dr. Jarvis recommended drinking a mixture of one to two teaspoons of vinegar in a glass of water before each meal.
Just remember, if you are going to try the vinegar diet program for losing weight, to use the right kind of vinegar - apple cider vinegar. In addition, keep in mind that most vinegars found at the local grocery store have been filtered, pasteurized and distilled, eliminating the health benefits. Most of the vinegars are not real vinegar at all, but are actually imitations, much like the difference between real and imitation vanilla extract. Thus, buy your vingar at a health food store!
You should look for unfiltered, unpasteurized and undistilled apple cider vinegar. This type of vinegar is cloudy, and will have what looks like stringy cobwebs floating in it. These strings are the substances that turns the fermented apple cider from alcohol into vinegar and gives it its sour taste in addition to looking disgusting!
Many weight lost people swear by this vinegar diet.
